Archie's Sonic has been cancelled

I had a feeling this might happen.

With all the speculation in the air with no new issues being delayed, I suppose the writing was on the wall even then.

First off, I ain't gonna solely blame this on Penders, because that f****r does not deserve the time of day for what he did to the comic. So that's only the time I'll mention him in this because I wouldn't give him the time of day.

Considering word on the wire is that Archie's were looking to distance themselves from the Sonic brand is a big indicator. Personally I think they're asinine and ignorant to want to walk away from such an Iconic brand that people the world over have enjoyed. But hey, you go do you, Archie's. Wait and see when this comes back to bite you in the ass. Prove me wrong.

How do I feel about this as a fan?......sad. I'm only just getting to collect compilation books because I've only ever read a few issues of Archie's Sonic and I adore it. It gives me what I need in escapism plus creative and progressive story-telling with great characters that are fleshed-out.

That and I suppose I am concerned that my fave character in Sally Acorn might not be carried over to a new series. I hold her in such high-regard from the way she is represented from a writing and visual perspective. She's a strong protagonist with a lot of depth and layers to her character and she's a tomboy, the action-girl, never afraid to get her fingers dirty and I love that.

To me.....I hold her above Sonic. Yeah, I know there are a few gonna be like "OMG! you can't say that!" First off? this is my opinion. You don't like? Go eat a d**k, lol. I don't care. I ain't here to sip your coolade. Go elsewhere because I ain't gonna change my thoughts just because it doesn't fit in with your own.

I have admired Sally for the way she was written in having to mature quicker for someone her age in a world where freedom was taken away and she had to be the strong adult role-model for everyone that had their world turned upside down.

And somehow Amy Rose is a better character than her?.......no. I don't think so. I will take a strong, well-written, female protagonist over a crazed, stalker fan-girl any given minute of the day. I don't dislike Amy. But if you asked me to pick between Sally & Amy I would say Sally in 2.1 seconds without even thinking about it.

I don't know what the future holds for Sonic or Sally for that matter in the comics.

All I can do....is let things unfold and present themselves.

Furthermore, someone has taken a page out of Sonic The Comic Online www.stconline.co.uk/ and created a fan Archie's Sonic online comic that pre-dates the reboot archiesoniconline.com/
